(WAVY) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a hit-and-run crash that killed a 63-year-old man in Virginia Beach last month.
Michael Shippy, 41, of Virginia Beach has been charged with two counts of felony hit-and-run, possession of a Schedule I/II substance and driving under the influence in connection to the crash.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. Jan. 31, Virginia Beach Police responded to a call in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian in the 3700 block of Bonney Road.
Upon arrival, crews found Thomas Moore of Virginia Beach, dead in the roadway.
A preliminary investigation determined Moore was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene.
