SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Department of Health will conduct a door-to-door survey in the Western Tidewater Health District next week as part of the 2025 Community Health Assessment.
The survey aims to gather information on access to care, health concerns, and barriers to good health. It will take place in Southampton County and Franklin on July 8, and in Isle of Wight County and Suffolk on July 10.
Residents will be asked about their access to healthcare, their health concerns, and any barriers they face to achieving good health. The responses collected during the survey will remain confidential.
“Our goal is to hear directly from residents about the most important health challenges they face,” said Angela Tillery, Western Tidewater District Health Director.
Survey staff will carry identification and informational flyers to ensure residents are informed about the purpose and scope of the survey. This initiative is part of a broader effort to assess community health needs and improve healthcare services in the region.
The survey’s findings will help the Virginia Department of Health prioritize funding and address the most pressing health issues in the Western Tidewater Health District.
