Suffolk Police seek suspect in Michaels armed robbery

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Officers with the Suffolk Police Department are asking for the public’s help after an armed robbery at a Michaels Tuesday night.

According to officials, around 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Michaels located in the 1000 block of University Boulevard for reports of a commercial armed robbery.


An initial investigation determined that a man walked into the craft store while wearing a disposable respirator mask and brandishing a firearm. Police said the man then demanded money from the cash register.

Police said the man is estimated to have taken $100 before fleeing from the scene on foot.

Police said no injuries were reported during the incident.
