SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Suffolk Police Department is hiring.
On Saturday, March 23, the department will hold its inaugural all-day hiring event.
During the event, those interested in becoming a Suffolk Police Officer will have the opportunity to complete almost all of the application requirements in a one-stop, fast track setting.
Applicants should come prepared to complete their application, written test, physical ability test and the oral review board (interview). Applicants are advised to wear clothing that is appropriate for the physical ability test.
Qualified police recruits can receive a one-time $5,000 bonus and 24 hours of recognition leave. Certified Police Officers are offered a one-time $10,000 bonus and 40 hours of recognition leave.
Candidates who have already submitted their applications are also encouraged to attend this event, and will be afforded the same opportunity to complete the testing and oral review panel.
No appointments are necessary to participate in the all-day hiring event.
