SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY)– Fire Station 11 in Suffolk is set to open and begin serving the public on 9/11.
The station, located 6482 Hampton Roads Parkway, is set to open at 8 a.m. This location will serve the residents in the North Suffolk area of the city. It will be home to fourteen firefighters, paramedics and officers. The station will staffed 24 hours, seven days a week.

The opening is designated to pay respect to the 24th Anniversary of 9/11. A steel beam from the 92 floor of World Trade Center, Tower 1, will be on display at the fire station tomorrow morning. The section of steel is being provided for display to the public by the Freedom Flag Foundation that was founded by Suffolk native, Mr. Richard Melito.


It will be on display from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
