SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on Nansemond Parkway on Tuesday.

According to officials, just after 11:30 a.m., both Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the 4800 block of Nansemond Parkway for reports of a vehicle accident.

Crews got to the scene and found two vehicles involved in the accident. Fire crews were able to perform a door pop in order to remove the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

Two people were transferred to a local hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Nansemond Parkway was temporarily closed to traffic while crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
