SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Suffolk Department of Fire and Rescue responded to a brush fire along Route 58 westbound Friday.
The fire consumed a 100-foot by 30-foot area off the roadway between the Wilroy exit and the Route 58 west entrance from Wilroy, officials said.
Pictures provided by the fire department show emergency vehicles blocking all lanes of travel westbound while crews worked to douse the flames.
Fire officials said it was under control as of 1:21 p.m.
There is no word what sparked the brush fire.
