SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Hampton Roads Sanitary District’s installation of a sanitary sewer pipe will detour traffic on College Drive and close off entrances and exits to Pointe Place for several months.

The westbound right lane closure on College Drive will stretch from the exit onto I-664, down to the traffic circle on Armstead Road and Harbour View Boulevard. I-664’s 8A exit onto College Drive will remain open, but the Pointe Place exit and entrance will be closed off during the construction.

Detours began Oct. 9, and are predicted to be completed by Feb. 2025; however, the completion date may vary based on weather conditions. The project is part of the HRSD’s Boat Harbor Land Transmission Pipe Installation, which is designed to intensely treat wastewater discharged into the James River and further meet drinking water quality standard.
