SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A family of five, two adults and three children, were displaced from their home late Saturday night after a fire in the 1700 Block of Macedonia Ave., according to Suffolk Fire & Rescue.
Crews arrived to the scene around 11:05 p.m. to find heavy fire and smoke showing from the building. The fire progressed through the attic, which halted all interior operations for a period of time.
The fire was marked under control around 12:38 a.m. Sunday.

The structure sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, but there were no reported injuries.
American Red Cross is working to help those displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
