Salvation Army’s ‘Write Stuff’ campaign to provide school supplies to Hampton Roads students in need

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Salvation Army is getting ready for their annual back to school initiative in an effort to help local kids in need.

According to a release, the Salvation Army’s “Write Stuff” initiative, which has been in operation for over 30 years, helps to provide K-12 students in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Portsmouth with school supplies.


“Every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and dignity,” Area Commander of The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command Major Chris Flanagan said. “The Write Stuff campaign helps eliminate barriers to learning and ensures children have the same chance to thrive as their peers.”
