PPD: Man arrested in connection to Portsmouth homicide

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection to a homicide from March 2 in Portsmouth, police said.

Kareem Horton was charged with felony homicide, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, shooting within a building and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On March 2, around 9:10 p.m., Portsmouth police responded to a call for a shooting in the 2900 block of Arcadia Avenue. Officer found two men with gunshot wounds and 24-year-old Remonds Delbridge was pronounced dead on scene. The other victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers were notified that two additional victims connected to this incident received treatment as walk-in patients at a local hospital.

On March 19, Portsmouth Police arrested Horton in connection to the homicide.
