Crash leads to power outages in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A power outage in Virginia Beach is impacting over a thousand people Friday afternoon.

According to Dominion Energy, as of 2 p.m., almost 1,200 customers were without power. Crews said the outage was due to a vehicle accident.


By 5 p.m., Dominion Energy had restored power to all but 19 customers.

Virginia Beach police responded to the intersection of Virginia Beach Boulevard and Beasley Drive in reference to a report of the crash around 1:30 p.m. All lanes of Virginia Beach Boulevard between Constitution and Silverbrook were shut down as first responders and other personnel responded.

There were no injuries reported.

The estimated time of restoration is between 4-7 p.m.
