PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Portsmouth Police Department has confirmed a missing 12-year-old boy has been found safe and has been reunited with his family.

According to officials, Makai Jones, 12, was last seen on Tuesday, April 1 around 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Dale Drive.

Police released images of Makai and asked for help finding him.

At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, police provided an update to the public that the child had been found.
