PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth Police are searching for a person of interest in connection with the man who was found shot to death in a burned Churchland dumpster in November.
According to officials, on Nov. 18, 45-year-old Kurtis Lee Watson was found dead in a burning dumpster nearby the Bethel Worship Center Church on Pepperwood Court. Police said Watson was shot multiple times, including in the head, thigh and foot.
Police, who intend to file second-degree murder charges in this case, have been looking for two persons of interest in relation to the homicide after spent casings and blood were found near the dumpster.
The first person of interest, 49-year-old Robert Leon Parker, who also goes by Pee Wee, was recently arrested on unrelated charges and has been questioned. Police are still searching for the second person of interest, 50-year-old Marquas Abdul Lamont Everette, who also goes by Marc.
Everette is described as a Black male with short hair. He is approximately five-foot-nine-inches and weighs around 180 pounds. Police said Everette is needed for questioning in relation to the homicide.
The incident remains under investigation.
