PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — An investigation determined a shooting on Highland Avenue in Portsmouth Thursday night was self-inflicted, police said.
Around 9:33 p.m., police responded to the 1200 block of Highland Avenue, not far from Portsmouth Boulevard, for a report of someone with a gunshot wound. When officers got there, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Police have not provided an update on the man’s condition.
