Police: 2 adults, 2 kids shot during graduation party

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police are working to learn who shot two adults and two children at a graduation party on Saturday night.

Law enforcement officials said they responded to the 400 block of Viking Street at 11:44 p.m. on Saturday after someone reported a shooting at the party.

When police arrived, they said they found four people, two adults aged 20 and 18 and two 16-year-old kids, who’d been hurt.

All four were rushed to a local hospital and are currently on stable condition.

During a Tuesday night city council briefing, Portsmouth Police Chief Stephen Jenkins said they have identified suspects in the incident, but that they are still looking for witnesses. Jenkins also said the party included residents from Chesapeake and Norfolk, and that attendees were aged from 15-22.
