Portsmouth cold case homicide suspect now in custody

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A murder suspect wanted in connection to a 2015 cold case in Portsmouth has been found.

Portsmouth police announced on Monday that Vincent Roderick Taylor Jr. is now in custody.

Police said last month that Taylor was a suspect in the 2015 shooting death of Emily Spence. The shooting happened on April 13, 2015 around 2:15 p.m. in the 1900 block of Holladay Street.

Taylor faces charges of first-degree murder, principals in the second degree, use of a firearm, conspiracy, firearm by felon and burglary.
