NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — One person was injured after a tractor-trailer reportedly came up to a vehicle too fast, striking the rear on Route 13 in Northampton Friday, police said.
Around 9 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Route 13. The incident occurred in the area of Brickhouse Drive.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the tractor-trailer struck the back of the Ford Expedition after coming up too fast. All of northbound lanes of Route 13 were shut down due to the crash and an oil spill. They have since been reopened.
The driver of the Ford Expedition suffered serious non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as James Jarvis Jr. He was charged with driving too close.
