NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a home in Young Terrace.
Police said the call reporting the incident came in around 4:25 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of E. Olney Road.
When they got to the scene, officers found the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Jwanta M. Scarbor.
Police said they are investigating the death as a homicide. The medical examiner’s office said the cause of death appeared to be a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
