NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Norfolk recently released the findings from a 2024 survey that assessed resident satisfaction.
In May, the five-page survey was mailed to random households in Norfolk. The city received responses from 917 households, representing each ward.
Major findings include:
- 13 percent increase in the respondents who think Norfolk is headed in the right direction (from 47 percent to 61 percent)
- 61.5 percent of respondents said they feel safe or very safe in their neighborhood, an increase of 11.6 percent since the 2022 survey
- 79 percent of respondents indicated they were satisfied or very satisfied with trash and bulky item pickup services
- 12 percent increase in respondents who were satisfied or very satisfied with available programming at libraries and parks/recreation
