NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk State University’s (NSU) Innovation Center is set to launch an enhanced tech incubator program for the upcoming fall semester.

The Fall 2024 Incubator Program will feature advanced technical assistance and will be strengthened through partnerships with the NSU Innovation Center, Small Business Development Center: Hampton Roads and the Capital Readiness Program (CRP).

“Our enriched partnerships with prominent development centers and councils empower us to provide entrepreneurs with not just inspiration, but the practical tools and direct support necessary to achieve their business goals,” Dr. Akosua Acheamponmaa, Director of NSUIC said. “Each participant receives a tailored approach, ensuring they receive the guidance needed to navigate the complexities of product development, business strategy, and market entry.”

The program is expected to run from Sept. 9 through Nov. 25, every Monday from 12-2 p.m. at the NSU Innovation Center. Some of the new additions can be found below:

One alumni of the program, Ann-Marie Stephens, one of the founders of Welfore Health, found great success through the program.

“It was a transformative pivot that clarified the problem we were addressing,” Stephens said. “It helped us pinpoint the ideal technology to develop a sustainable and scalable business.”
