NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police met with fans on Wednesday night after their famous lip sync video.

The meet and greet was at Waterside District downtown, and it was also family movie night.

Ahead of the film, some of the officers in the lip sync video signed autographs and took photos with fans.

“Just to see the response and see how everyone is reacting to us and seeing us in a different light. that’s what it’s all about, said Norfolk PD’s Christopher Taveras. “So it’s so amazing, the endorsement and positivity we’re getting from all this.”

The video from the department’s original Facebook post has been viewed more than 68 million times.

They challenged several other departments to a lip sync battle, and it’s caused quite a trend across the country.
