Norfolk International Airport sees slight drop in passengers compared to last year

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk International Airport saw about 1200 fewer visitors this April than it did in April 2024, according to a press release. That’s part of a minor downward trend for the year, in which about 23,000 fewer people transited through the facility compared to 2024.

In April 2024, 394,447 travelers chose ORF for their departure, destination or as a layover. This April, the number of people dropped to 393,161. By the end of April 2024, 1,394,447 had traveled through the airport, compared to 1,348,365 this year.


American Airlines and Delta led the pack in providing the most flights, with 117,696 and 101,505 passengers served over the month of April, respectively. American saw a 5.7% drop compared to April the year before, while Delta saw a 10.4% rise.

JetBlue, which began service at the facility on April 30, reported 160 passengers last month.
