NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Crews responded to a house fire Sunday evening that left two people displaced and a firefighter with a minor injury, officials say.

Dispatch says the call came in at 6:12 p.m. for the incident in the 7000 block of Clayton Drive in Norfolk.

Officials say arriving units were met with heavy fire and smoke from the attached garage. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

The spokesperson for the city says a firefighter sustained a “very minor injury” and no treatment was rendered. Red Cross was not needed to assist the two people displaced.

Officials say all occupants and animals escaped safely.

Crews remained on the scene as part of the overhaul. Fire Marshalls are conducting an investigation into the incident.
