NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police said two people were shot, one fatally, early Tuesday morning on East Virginia Beach Boulevard.
According to police, the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 900 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard, near Tidewater Drive.
Officers located the shooting victims, a man and a woman, with injuries in the 600 block of West Brambleton Avenue, not far from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was later identified as 32-year-old Delisha R. Taylor.
The man was transported to Norfolk General with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The motives and the circumstances behind the shooting are still under investigation and there’s no suspect information at this time.
10 On Your Side met with her family members hours after Taylor was killed. The family did want to participate in an interview but her sister, Metsie Taylor, issued a statement saying Delisha was the best sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend and she will be greatly missed. Taylor worked as a home health care provider for various agencies in Hampton Roads.

On May 5 at 6 p.m., the family will hold a candlelight vigil, a small walk, and a balloon release at the Diggstown Field on Goodman Street.
