NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News Police Department said the parents of an unsupervised child found wandering alone in the city will not face charges.
Newport News Police spokesperson Kelly King said this incident was purely accidental.
Police said a resident found the child wandering unsupervised in the Stoney Run area of Newport News around 6:10 a.m. on June 13.
The child was believed to be around two years old, police said.
Around 9 a.m., police said the child’s parents were located.
