Police: Woman arrested in Newport News weekend homicide

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to a homicide Saturday in Newport News, police said.

Natlie Johnson, 64, in addition to the first-degree murder charge, faces several firearms-related charges.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of 16th street in reference to an unresponsive man. A resident at the home told people that the man arrived shortly before and reported being assaulted a different location.

The victim was identified as Donnell Bowles, 61, who died at the hospital from a gunshot wound. Johnson was identified as the other resident in the home.
