YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) – A man was arrested July 10 for reportedly stealing over $2,100 worth of electronics from a Yorktown Walmart, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m., during which the suspect was confronted by Walmart’s Loss Prevention employees. The man then fled on foot, where he was found by deputies in the store’s McDonald’s restaurant.

The suspect once again tried to flee, but was quickly located and arrested by YPSO. Brandon Mason Wayne Thompson, 36, was charged with felony grand larceny and is currently incarcerated at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.

Thompson is also wanted on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges from the city of Hampton, deputies say.
