NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Hampton man has been arrested in connection with an interstate shooting that took place Saturday afternoon in Norfolk, according to Virginia State Police.

Markus T. Johnson, 30, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting from an occupied vehicle to endanger a person, shooting at an occupied vehicle, reckless handling of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felon in possession of a firearm, discharge of a firearm in public and five counts of shooting across a roadway.

State Police received a call at around 3:15 p.m. Jan. 25 by the victim of an interstate shooting.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was driving a blue Kia Stinger sedan, traveling westbound on Interstate 64 near Norview Avenue, where an unknown vehicle began to shoot at his vehicle. The victim suffered an injury that was not life-threatening and taken to Norfolk General Hospital, State Police said.

Johnson was taken to the Chesapeake City Jail where he received no bond.
