Man and 2 juveniles charged for carrying concealed weapons in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A man and two juveniles were arrested Wednesday morning in connection with carrying concealed weapons in Elizabeth City.

Officers received a report in reference to three people in the 1400 block of Roanoke Avenue at approximately 8:45 p.m. One of the individuals was allegedly brandishing a large gun.


When officers arrived, they located three individuals who matched the description provided in the 400 block of Ehringhaus Street. They were detained and frisked for officer safety, in which several firearms were discovered.

Zimir Sincere Hinton, 19, was arrested and charged with carrying concealed gun, two counts of contributing delinquency of a minor and failure to appear on reckless driving to endanger, speeding and driving while license revoked.

He was taken to Albemarle District Jail with a secure bond of $3,260.00. His first court appearance will be Oct. 9 in Pasquotank County District Jail at 9:30 a.m.

Two juveniles were also arrested and charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction and carrying a concealed gun. They were later taken to Perquimans County Detention Center under a secured custody order.

This remains an active investigation.
