NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Officials with Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) recently stated that Tide Light Rail trains may be delayed systemwide in both directions over the next week due to ongoing maintenance.
As part of this maintenance, motorists might find that trains are stopping ahead of the designated station platforms.
HRT wants to remind drivers to wait until the train has passed and barriers are lifted before proceeding, and to never drive in front of a train when lights are flashing or when train horns can be heard.
Pedestrians are reminded to use designated walkways to reach stations, and to never cross intersections when gates are down. For additional safety tips, you can visit HRT’s website here.
Maintenance is set to continue throughout this coming week.
