PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Basketball helped shape Justice McCoy into the man he is today. Now, as a coach, he’s using the sport to impart important lessons into the next generation. When it comes to his nickname, “Chop,” it’s become more of a brand! In this week’s I Am Hampton Roads, we head to the Safehaven Empowerment Center to learn more about how Coach Chop is bridging generations on the basketball court.
Coach Chop is hosting a Peninsula District Alumni Tournament June 28-29 where household names in high school hoops from the past couple of decades will be back on the court for a great cause! Winners will get a $3,000 donation to their school’s basketball teams! Check out Coach Chop’s Instagram page for updates and to learn more.
