HPHD offering 4 free CPR and AED training sessions across Hampton Roads

CPR manikins can take the beating, so you don’t have to crack anyone’s ribs or trigger vomiting because you’re trying to learn CPR.

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Peninsula Health District announced they will be offering free CPR and AED training across four locations in the region.

According to a release, between Aug. 14 and Aug. 26, there will be four opportunities across Hampton Roads for people to participate in free CPR and AED training. Everyone aged 13 and up are able to participate and each training session is expected to last around an hour.


The release states that as of July 21, there have been 10 children under the age of five that have died in swimming pool drownings in the year. The training sessions aim to educated the public on how to provide life-saving measures in the event of a drowning.

Registration to attend the training sessions is not required, but is recommended.
