Juvenile injured, 2 dead following separate shootings in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A juvenile was injured and 2 people are dead following two shootings Friday night in Hampton that occurred within a two-mile radius of one another and killed two people.

Police received a call about the first shooting around 10:48 p.m.

Officers responded to the intersection of Nickerson Blvd. and Bridgeport Cove Road and found a male in the road, who had been shot. Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

Moments later, police received information about a separate shooting, in the 30 block of Silver Isles Blvd.

Another male was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Monday, police identified that homicide victim as 18-year-old Shaun Fauntleroy, from Newport News.

They also confirmed the second homicide victim is a juvenile, but did not release his name.

In a press release, police classify this as a homicide investigation. Officers said the motive is under investigation and it is unclear whether the two incidents are related.

During the homicide investigation Friday night, police were made aware of a walk-in gunshot victim at a local hospital. When officers arrived at the hospital they found a juvenile victim being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Police say an investigation revealed that both homicides and the shooting victim are connected.
