HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man was shot during a home invasion in Hampton early Monday morning.
Hampton Police said officers were called to the scene of a home invasion and shooting in the 1300 block of West Avenue around 5 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found people living inside a home on that block were awoken after two armed suspects entered the home demanding money. During a physical altercation, one of the suspects shot a man, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital with an injury that was considered not life-threatening.
