HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man has life-threatening injuries after a man was found shot on Michigan Drive Wednesday night, Hampton Police said.

Police said a preliminary investigation suggests the man may have been shot in the 200 block of Parkdale Avenue before fleeing there and being found on Michigan Drive. Hampton Police said they got the call for a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Michigan Drive around 9:07 p.m.

Police said the incident occurred during a gathering, where an argument ensued between the victim and the suspect. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene, according to police.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital, and they are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection to the shooting.

Detectives from the Hampton Police Division’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating the shooting.

It is one of two shootings in Hampton Wednesday night that took place minutes apart. Police said there was a shooting with life-threatening injuries on Fox Hill Road around 9:10 p.m.
