HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man was arrested on Thursday after a shooting on Buckroe Avenue, police said.
According to officials, just before 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Buckroe Avenue after an adult male told officers nearby that he had just been shot. The victim was then taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim and suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Cameron Epperson, were involved in a physical altercation when Epperson then pulled out a firearm, shooting the victim.
Epperson was shortly after apprehended and charged with aggravated malicious wounding, possession of a stolen firearm, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm while in possession of schedule I/II narcotics, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and simple assault.
