HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton School Board recently approved Hampton City School’s FY 2025-2026 Budget.
The budget, which was approved on Wednesday, March 26, focused on the following three areas: Maximizing every child’s learning, creating safe, nurturing environments and attracting, developing and retaining exceptional staff.
As part of the approved budget, all full-time staff, and a majority of part-time staff, will have a 4% salary increase with no increase in healthcare costs. There will also be additional personnel, including school security officers, teachers and instructional assistants, making a net increase of 55.7 positions.
Additionally, the budget includes the allocation of additional staffing resources in order to support students with disabilities.
Additional recommendations will be presented following the final revenue figures from the state and local government.
