HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division is searching for a robbery suspect accused of stealing several cartons of Newport cigarettes from a 7-Eleven.
Police said the robbery happened at the 7-Eleven at 597 Aberdeen Road around 2:45 a.m. on June 17.
A man entered the convenience store, went behind the counter and proceeded to fill a clear trash bag with boxes of Newport cigarettes. When an employee attempted to intervene, the suspect assaulted the employee and fled the scene on foot.
During the robbery, the man wore a face mask, blue t-shirt with yellow writing, blue jeans and gray shoes.
