HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The Help Social Butterflies Foundation is set to host their first indoor Butterfly Walk for Lupus & Fibro on Aug. 3.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 1-4 p.m. at the Boo Williams Sportsplex, located at 5 Armistead Pointe Parkway in Hampton. Check in will be at noon.
The theme for this year’s event is “Together We Thrive,” and hopes to celebrate the strength and resilience of those with lupus and fibromyalgia.
Several notable people will be in attendance, including Delegate Jackie Glass, a fibromyalgia “thriver” and advocate, and celebrities from All the Queen’s Men Oshea Russel and Michael Bolwaire. Dr. Elizabeth Clayton, leading rheumatologist, will also be in attendance, showcasing the medical community’s support in the attempt to understand and treat these conditions.
