HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A beloved Hampton man will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
Family and friends describe 25-year-old D’Angelo Osborne to WAVY 10 as a Hampton business owner, father of two and flag football coach. His heart for mentorship showed through his role as a coach for the 6U Plug Boyz Flag Football organization, where he poured into the lives of young athletes just as coaches once did for him.

10 On Your Side previously reported Osborne was celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday at Karma Restaurant and Lounge when he was shot and killed on April 11.
Mayor Jimmy Gray shared on social media that his death hits close to home because he knew the young man and his family.
Our city has lost another young life to gun violence. This one hits close to home because I knew the young man and his family. This tragedy is heartbreaking, but it’s a painful reminder that we must remain vigilant in protecting one another.
Over the past year, we made real progress in reducing gun violence in our city. That tells us something powerful: we can be successful again but we all have a role to play. Report what you see. Mentor a young person. Volunteer. Support someone in need. Every small action can save a life.
As your Mayor, I promise you the City will continue to support those ready to change their lives—and bring justice to those who refuse to.
We remember. We grieve. But we also rise—together.
Mayor Jimmy Gray
