HAYES, Va. (WAVY) – The Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire in Hayes early Friday morning.
According to officials, crews were notified of trailer fire on Feb. 9 at approximately 3:14 a.m. at the Wicomico Mobile Village.
Crews arrived to the scene and found fire and smoke coming from a single wide trailer. The fire, which was mostly contained to the center of the trailer, was considered cleared by 5 a.m.
The trailer sustained extensive water and smoke damage. One person was transferred to a local hospital.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined as crews continue to investigate.
