Deputies: Man arrested on child sexual exploitation charges in Camden County

CAMDEN COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — The Camden County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, officials said.

59-year-old Steven E. Vyrostek was arrested and charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, deputies said. The investigation was done in collaboration with state and local partners as well as the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force #ICAC.

“This arrest was made possible through diligent investigative work and cooperative efforts,” a release states. “We take the protection of our community, especially our youth, very seriously. We want to remind everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving children, online or in-person immediately.”
