VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Controversial vigilante pedophile hunter Alex Rosen had called out the Virginia Beach Police Department for not arresting an alleged pedophile despite having video evidence, but later told 10 On Your Side a meeting with police “went very well” and said they are actively investigating all the allegations, including child molestation.

Rosen, who is known for rocking the boat with his online posts and use of racial slurs, is now ruffling feathers in Virginia Beach. He claimed he caught an alleged pedophile on camera admit to his crimes. He was previously in headlines for being arrested for harassment, trespassing and disturbing the peace in Branson, Missouri.

The following can be heard in a video sent to 10 On Your Side:

Rosen: “Are you gonna delete that child porn off your phone?”

Alleged suspect: “Yeah.”

Rosen: “Okay, you’re not gonna meet up with a 13-year-old girl ever again, are you?”

Alleged suspect: “No.”

When the police arrived, Rosen says nothing came of it.

“He admits to me that he was in fact here to meet a 13-year-old girl,” Rosen said. “He had condoms in his backpack and admitted to molesting a 6-year-old girl that he’s babysat very recently. When the cops come, he admits everything in front of the cops. He says he’s gonna delete the child porn, which indicates he has the child porn to delete. He says he’s not gonna meet a 13-year-old girl for sex again. He’s admitting that he did all of this in front of the cops’
face.”

Rosen says police claimed to not have probable cause to search the alleged suspect’s phone despite the video evidence. It’s worth noting a search warrant signed by a magistrate is commonly required before searching a phone.

“We showed them this footage, and they think that’s not probable cause to seize his phone,” Rosen said. “You have video of the perpetrator admitting he did these crimes, and they still did not take his phone.”

In a statement sent to 10 On Your side, the Virginia Beach Police Department said that “we are aware of the incident and are currently reviewing the information received as well as our response to the situation.”
