CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The cell phone of a man reported missing on Thursday in Chesapeake was found on an unmanned catamaran in the Chesapeake Bay.
The Coast Guard first announced on Wednesday afternoon that Bill D. Wolf’s catamaran was found about three nautical miles north of Little Creek Harbor in Norfolk. The Prindle 16 vessel also had other personal items belonging to Wolf.

Chesapeake police said on Thursday that Wolf was last seen on July 23 just after 3 p.m. in the 2000 block of Athens Court.
According to Wolf’s wife, he was last seen operating a silver 2008 Ford F150 pickup with Virginia license plates “IBDWOLF” after having a mental health episode.
Police describe Wolf as five foot eight and approximately 188 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with any knowledge on Wolf’s whereabouts are urged to contact the Chesapeake Police Department at 757-382-6161 or the Coast Guard at 757-483-8567.
