CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office is getting ready to host its Badges and Backpacks Back-to-School supply drive on Friday.
According to a release, during the drive, the sheriff’s office will help to collect school supplies to help benefit the Chesapeake Public Schools Teacher Supply Center at Greenbrier Middle School.
“This is about more than just notebooks and pencils,” Sheriff Dave Rosado said. “It’s about making sure teachers and students have what they need to succeed. Our teachers already do so much, often with limited resources. This is our way of giving back and reminding them how much we appreciate all that they do. We love our teachers, and we’re proud to support them.”
All of the supplies collected from both deputies and civilian staff of the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office will be delivered around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
Supplies will then be given to Chesapeake Public Schools’ Title I schools to help ensure both students and staff are prepared for the upcoming school year.
