Chesapeake School Board announces new position vacancy

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake School Board announces the resignation of Brittany Walker, Ph.D., effective May 2.

“Walker has decided to step down from her position due to her family’s upcoming move out of state as a result of her husband’s job relocation,” a release states.


After serving the Chesapeake School Board, her dedication and expertise was described as “invaluable”.

“Chesapeake Public Schools will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Walker. “I am thankful for the support I’ve received from our community, allowing me this opportunity to serve. Thank you for trusting me to do this important work. I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of Chesapeake Public Schools.”

Walker’s term was set to expire on Dec. 31, 2026. The School Board will share information about plans to fill the vacancy in the near future.
