Chesapeake massage therapist granted bond for sexual assault charges

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake massage therapist was granted bond on Tuesday morning on after being arraigned on Friday for sexual assault charges.

Ahmed Zejjari, 58, appeared virtually Friday morning, where he was arraigned for aggravated sexual battery for an incident that occurred at a popular Chesapeake business called Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa in the Greenbrier area.

On Tuesday, Zajjari was granted bond under the condition that he does not work as a message therapist anymore or leave the state.

According to court documents, the alleged victim was assigned a male therapist who introduced himself as Matt — later revealed to have been Zejjari by the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa. During the session, the victim alleges that Matt, or Zejjari, repeatedly attempted to expose her by manipulating the blanket.

The victim, who said she wanted a relaxing massage for her birthday, was told by Zejjari that he would instead perform a deep tissue massage, saying that is what he specialized in.

After Zejjari manipulated the blanket to completely expose the victim, she quickly turned over to avoid full exposure.

Court documents also say that at one point, while massaging the victim’s legs, Zejjari allegedly spread them apart to an uncomfortable degree — even at one point making direct skin contact with the victim’s glutes, something the massage parlor said is against their policy.

According to the parlor, massage therapists are only permitted to massage the glute area over a blanket and only with consent from the patient, which the victim claims she did not give.

The victim then quickly rolled over and told Zejjari, “we’re done.” Court documents then say Zejjari placed his hands on the victim’s chest and said “[victim’s name], we are done.”

After the incident, the victim then filed a police report, as well as a complaint with the spa. The following morning, the business informed the victim that “Matt” was actually named Ahmed Zejjari.

Court documents state that Zejjari had been working at the Hand & Stone Spa since February of 2025.

WAVY News 10 reached out to Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa for further information, they declined to comment.

Zajjari is due back in court on April 22.
