VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One person and one cat has been displaced after a fire on Archer Court in Virginia Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire in the Kings Grant area was reported at 4:50 p.m., according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department. Crews arrived at 4:54 p.m. to find smoke showing from the attic of the single-story home.

Crews had water on the fire at 5:08 p.m. and marked it out at 5:11 p.m.

The one adult and one cat were displaced, but there were no injuries to civilians, firefighters or pets. Assistance from the Red Cross was not needed.

The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
