Juvenile pleads guilty to charges in shooting of 14-year-old

GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — One of two juveniles charged in the shooting of a 14-year-old in Gloucester County pleaded guilty this week.

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office charged two males with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm while under the age of 18 and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony for an incident last July.

Deputies responded to the entrance of Beaverdam Park on July 17, where the 14-year-old was shot.

One of the two charged, a 15-year-old, pleaded guilty on Monday and is scheduled to sentenced on June 11. The second suspect charged in the case is due in court for a trial in May.
